On Thursday 10th April, the Richard III Society held a launch event for our new book, ‘The Ricardian Century; A History of the Richard III Society’ by former editor of the Ricardian Bulletin, John Saunders.

The event was held at the College of Arms in London and we were delighted to welcome our Patron, HRH The Duke of Gloucester, to the event.

The Duke met and chatted to members present and speeches were then given by Society Chair Amanda Geary and Ricardian Century author John Saunders. The Duke then said a few words and gave the toast – ‘to the Richard III Society and Good King Richard’.

Afterwards, the Duke was presented by a pair of silver boar cufflinks by Amanda Geary on behalf of the Society.

The event, which brought to an end the Society’s centenary celebrations, was held at the College of Arms, itself founded by King Richard III in 1484. The Society is very grateful to Principal Garter King of Arms Sir David White and York Herald Peter O’Donohue for their help.
